Winter might not bring us sunny skies and blooming flowers, but it offers something just as special—unique and atmospheric beauty. Whether it’s misty mornings, frosty landscapes, or windswept beaches, this time of year holds incredible opportunities to capture memorable moments with your furry friend.

I understand that many pet parents shy away from booking portrait experiences during the colder months, especially when rain is in the forecast. And honestly, I get it—no one wants soggy tails and muddy paws. (If you just thought, “Yes, I’d love a rainy shoot, splashing through puddles and embracing the weather!” then let’s make it happen—what a story that would be!)

For those who prefer drier days, rest assured that flexibility is part of my process.

A Flexible and Stress-Free Experience

To make sure your portrait experience is everything you hope for, I always check the weather two days before. If it looks like a downpour is on the way, we simply reschedule. No stress, no fuss—I want the day to feel special and enjoyable for you and your furry friend.

Misty Mornings and Atmospheric Magic

Misty mornings are one of my favourite parts of winter. They create a soft, almost magical atmosphere that’s perfect for capturing timeless portraits. Have a look at Bentley and Bosci’s portrait from a foggy morning at Queen Elizabeth Country Park—these kinds of conditions add so much depth and emotion to an image.

Crisp Winter Days at the Park

Even on crisp days, winter has its own kind of beauty. Milo and Sid’s portraits at Staunton Country Park are a testament to that. The muted tones and bare trees gave their session a quiet elegance, highlighting their personalities.

The Beach: Perfect Year-Round

Let’s not forget the beach—my absolute favourite location, no matter the time of year. Edgar’s winter beach portrait is full of joy and happiness. The sea breeze and dramatic skies make for an incredible setting, even on chillier days.
