Are you fed up with people making rude comments or assumptions about your muzzled dog or you as their guardian? Do you want to show the world that muzzled dogs can live happy, adventurous, and love-filled lives?

As a proud mum of a muzzled dog myself, I know how frustrating those misconceptions can be. My Irish Terrier, Deedee, who you can see in the banner above, is proof that muzzled pups are happy pups. Now, I’m looking for other amazing muzzled dogs to be part of a one-of-a-kind photography project!

I'm creating a book titled Muzzled and Misunderstood to celebrate dogs who wear muzzles by capturing stunning portraits of them enjoying life and sharing heartfelt stories from their guardians. The aim is to show the world that muzzles are a compassionate and responsible choice, not something to be feared or judged.

Whether your dog wears a muzzle for safety, anxiety, health, training or legal reasons, this is your chance to help destigmatize muzzles and show the beauty, love, and joy in their everyday lives.

Why participate?

  • Be featured in a stunning, professionally photographed book, Muzzled and Misunderstood
  • Share your pup's story and help educate others
  • Help destigmatize muzzles and muzzled dogs
  • Receive a complimentary high resolution digital portrait of your muzzled pooch as a thank you
  • Receive a complimentary portrait session for your pooch (normally £95) that can include other dogs from your household as well
  • Option to purchase stunning artwork from your session to cherish forever (find out more about the products here)

If you and your muzzled pooch want to be a part of this exciting project, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s show the world that muzzled dogs are happy dogs with amazing guardians.

A limited number of each breed and each reason for wearing a muzzle will be chosen, so apply as soon as possible to secure your spot!

This lovely project brought to you by Diane Gollowitzer is nothing short of groundbreaking. With its stunning photography and thoughtful content, it celebrates the everyday heroes—the dogs and their guardians—who embrace muzzles as part of their training and management toolkit. I was lucky enough to preview some of the beautiful images, and they truly capture the dignity, care, and love behind the decision to use a muzzle.

Briony, Neo's Mum (2023)

“We had the most wonderful session with Diane. She was patient and understanding with our reactive dog Neo, who can be fearful of strangers and had a bite history. Diane booked a secure field, allowed Neo lots of space and time to adjust, and didn’t put any pressure on him to ‘perform’. The photographs are stunning and really capture Neo’s personality, which only shows through when he feels relaxed and happy. If you have a reactive, nervous or anxious dog, I cannot recommend Diane enough.”
