I've always been clear about my calling as a pet photographer. My passion is to create stunning artwork featuring our furry companions, and I want people to recognize that’s what I specialize in. That’s why, if you’re following me on social media, you’ll notice I rarely post images that include people. It’s not because I don’t love capturing those special moments between pets and their humans, but because I don’t want to give the impression that I’m a family photographer who also photographs pets.

Recently, though, I had a bit of a lightbulb moment. Someone said to me, "Wait, we can be in the pictures too? I didn’t know that!" That’s when it dawned on me that perhaps I’ve been a little too focused on making sure everyone knows I specialize in pet portraits, and in doing so, I might have missed an opportunity to showcase another beautiful aspect of my work: capturing the bond between pets and their people.

While I always ensure your furry friend remains the star of the session, I love when families get involved. There’s something so heartwarming about the connection between humans and their pets, and it’s not something you can easily capture on your own.

As much as you adore your pup and take countless selfies together, having a professional session where I focus on capturing those natural interactions can make all the difference. Whether it’s a playful moment, a quiet cuddle, or simply being present with your best friend, these are memories worth preserving. It does not have to be a classic posed portrait. In fact, some of the most meaningful moments are captured in a more natural, relaxed way. Whether it’s you walking hand-in-paw with your furry friend, or sitting beside them while they enjoy the moment, there are plenty of ways to incorporate you into the image without needing to pose directly or show your face.

I have clever techniques to subtly include you in the frame, focusing on the bond you share with your pet rather than creating a traditional portrait. It could be their paw resting in your hand, your silhouette in the background, or a close-up of your legs beside them—these little touches add so much depth to the story of your relationship, without making it a full "family portrait" in the conventional sense.

So yes, while I am first and foremost a pet photographer, you're always more than welcome to be part of the session! It’s those shared moments between you and your dog that tell the whole story, and I’d love to help you remember them forever.

Let’s create beautiful memories that highlight not just your furry companion's personality, but the special bond you share.
